Description

Handcrafted by traditional artisans using the ancient lost-wax casting method, these statues feature finely painted facial details and are available in full 24K gold plating.

Machig Labdron, the 11th-century Tibetan yogini and founder of Chod, embodies the union of profound wisdom and fearless compassion. Regarded as an emanation of Yum Chenmo, the Great Mother Prajnaparamita, she transformed the practice of “cutting through” self-clinging into one of the most powerful methods for realizing emptiness in Vajrayana Buddhism.

This statue serves as a support for visualization in Chod practice, in which the practitioner symbolically offers the body as a feast to all beings, uprooting attachment to the self and dissolving the deepest layers of ego-clinging.

Every detail of Machig Labdron’s form expresses her enlightened activity. Her damaru (hand drum) calls forth the dakinis and summons awareness beyond ordinary perception, while her bell resounds with the sound of emptiness. Her dancing posture reflects the dynamic, fearless movement through fear and obstacles alike. For experienced Vajrayana practitioners, this statue is a meaningful support for Chod sadhana and meditation.

Each statue has been blessed and consecrated through traditional
rabney rituals by senior lamas and monks of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery.
