Description
This thanka depicts Guru Rinpoche with 12 manifestations according to the Thukdrub Barché Künsel terma cycle from the Chokling Tersar tradition. The original was painted by an experienced and well-known thanka artist in Boudha, Kathmandu. The painting has been thoroughly checked and approved by Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche. Lama Tenzin Sangpo recommends using this thanka as an authentic visualization support for the sadhanas of the Thukdrub Barché Künsel cycle, such as Trinlé Nyingpo and Concise Manual for Daily Practice (Gyungyi Köljang), as well as Ocean of Amrita (Ngakso).
Guru Rinpoche is the main figure, surrounded by the retinue of his 12 manifestations. Above Guru Rinpoche are Buddha Amitabha, Avalokiteshvara, Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa and Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. Below are the female Dharma protectors – five sisters Tseringma and Khyung Tsünma, and in the four corners are the four pairs of dakas and dakinis – the gatekeepers.
The Dharma Ratna shop offers replicas of this thanka printed on high quality canvas, adorned with premium-quality blue silk brocade made in Varanasi, India. The original thanka and replicas have been blessed by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche.
